DotDashKey is a small, focused reference site, and the person behind it reads every message that comes in. The most useful messages tend to fall into a few categories, listed below, but any genuine question or piece of feedback is welcome.

Code or Chart Corrections

If a Morse code, NATO phonetic spelling, braille pattern or cipher example on this site looks wrong, that's the single highest-priority category of message this site receives. Please include the exact page and the specific character or entry in question — a precise report gets checked and, if it's genuinely wrong, fixed quickly.

Historical Corrections and Sources

The History and Reference pages are researched from primary standards documents and well-documented histories, but this is a field with over a century of sometimes-contradictory folklore attached to it. If you have a source that contradicts something on a history page — especially a primary source like an original ITU or ICAO record, or a firsthand account — that's genuinely useful and worth sending in.

Feature Requests and General Feedback

Ideas for additional systems, tools, or reference material are read and considered, even when there isn't capacity to reply individually to every message. If a translator behaved unexpectedly or a page didn't load correctly on your device, details on what you were doing, what device and browser you were using, and what you expected to happen instead are the most helpful things to include.

Response Times

This is a small, independently run site, not a company with a support desk, so please expect a genuine reply rather than an instant one — corrections that affect accuracy are prioritized over general feedback.

Press and Partnerships

For press inquiries, educational licensing questions about the Code & Cipher Activity Pack for a school or troop, or a genuine partnership proposal, please include enough context in your first message (who you represent, what you're asking for) to get a useful reply on the first exchange rather than several rounds of clarifying questions.
